It's curious that the protruding lip on the door cut-off is on the door opposite the drawing.
The door rabbet is angled to provide clearance for opening the door.
A preview of the cabinet. Jim made decisions about weights and measures throughout the process. Projects begin with the doors; final dimensions are determined by the piece itself rather than a drawing.
The slender dimensions of the evident top and bottom of this cabinet provide no room for reliable jointery. Structural strength is gained with dovetailed interior top and bottom.
Once the cabinet dimensions are established, the doors will be trimmed to fit.
The slightly over-dimensioned finish top and bottom are located with dowel pins, then trimmed to the desired reveals.
