If he thought a form was successful, Jim was not ashamed to revist it. But he insisted he never made a cabinet the same way twice. There’s no way of knowing which of these came first. Note that the lower stretchers on the second cabinet pictured are just a little higher off the floor.

Jim was very fond of cats.
This door spacer seems to be spring loaded, a practice later abandoned.
Friction latch at the top of the cabinet. It is a spring-loaded lever, the fulcrum on the inside end. The screw controls the amount of pressure on the latch.
